hmm . . . interesting. . .i think i may go with terra on this one. perhaps it is the individual's issue and not due to gender . . . in defense, many guys are not upfront either . . . on the other hand . . . neither are a lot of girls . .hmm. . i understand your frustrations.
so if i may ask - would you prefer to be the upfront one? or do you wish the girl to be upfront? or both? or is the issue that you ARE upfront, the girl simply doesn't respond . . .?
I was upfront - she was being ambigious but then she cleared it up last night.
She just wants to be "friends".
My heart sank a little. She was sending very mixed signals. The day before yesterday she called me and asked to go shopping. (we did) then she called me yesterday and asked to come over - gave me a xmas present and then said " i just want to be friends"
well at least I got one date out of it - and at least she was upfront at the end.
yeah that can be so confusing. both genders are good at sending mixed signals. i've had many a friend back in the day, myself included, where we were so confused and couldn't figure out if the guy was actually interested or not . . . a lot of broken hearts . . . but i know it goes both ways. and girls are REALLY good at pulling the "just wanna be friends" line.
i guess the bottom line is that it can get resolved in the end and hopefully with not too badly disappointed spirits.

Why can't girls just be upfront?
I routinely feel the same way about guys. Maybe it is not necessarily a gender issue but a character issue? Just a thought. :)
